Who wants to start their week off right? Especially with kids going back to school, it's extra important to fuel your body and mind for the long days ahead. If you're like our family, you refuse to reach for the sugar-laden cereals filled with artificial flavors, colors, and pesticides. If you're still wanting a fun way to start your day, try making this delicious homemade Cocoa Puffs Cereal! It mimics the commercially manufactured garbage, but has much better ingredients and it tastes amazing!
Turn your breakfast into a masterpiece, one homemade Cocoa Puff at a time!
Ingredients
1/4 Cup Milk (Dairy-Free or Regular Cow's Milk both work)
1 Egg
1/4 Cup Honey (or Agave Nectar)
1/4 Cup Organic Peanut Butter (or Organic Almond Butter)
1 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla
2 Cups Almond Flour (or Oat Flour)
1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Sea Salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F.
Whisk together the Milk, Egg, Honey, Peanut Butter, and Vanilla.
Add together the Almond Flour, Cocoa Powder, and Sea Salt.
Whisk or fold everything together until everything is thoroughly combined.
This will make a sticky batter. Roll this batter into small marble-sized balls and place each ball on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. (If you have plastic gloves, I wore them throughout the process and it worked out great! If not, you can also dampen your hands so the batter won't stick to your hands).
Bake the balls for 8-10 minutes.
Take the pan out of the oven momentarily, give the pan a good shake or roll the balls over with your hand. Once flipped, return them to the oven and bake them for another 8-10 minutes.
Allow the balls to cool on the pan and then transfer them to a container until ready to eat! Store cereal is a cool, dark place.
Enjoy with milk, or simply pop them into your mouth for a fun snack.
